There is no gimmicks. My practice has been transformed in 2012 from “the usual” to truly patient oriented.
Reality is that plastic surgery practices waste expenses on excessive office, private surgery space, multiple assistants and flamboyant advertising. Higher overhead costs have palpable effects on patients. Simply put, patients have to pay for all of that by having impossibly short consults, more pressure to perform “extra” procedures, very limited acces to the actual doctor and higher prices. All of that has real consequences for patients quality of care and safety.
I will be most of all honest. I will not rush through the process because education is the priority. If we need more time then additional time will be found. It is perfectly OK to leave the consultation without a “sale”. We will talk later once the information has sunk in. I will not suggest an unnecessary surgery. I am happy to refer my future patients to former patients if they wish to discuss their concern on more personal level.
Finally, the “communication” is the key to good and safe outcome.
